Community Voices Matter

1. WRITE A COMMENTARY FOR SUBMITTAL TO THE SAN DIEGO-UNION TRIBUNE. 

 

The word count must be 500-750 words.  Briefly explain what the City has proposed, and what most concerns you.  State why the proposal is unreasonable and irresponsible.  At the bottom, give your name, number of years you’ve lived in the community, and anything else you’d like to add about yourself.

While you may create a Word document, the commentary must be cut and pasted into the email itself when it’s sent to the UT.  The commentary should have a headline.  Submit it to Laura Castaneda, Deputy Editor/Editorial & Opinion, at laura.castaneda@sduniontribune.com, and copy Matt Hall, Editorial and Opinion Director, matthew.hall@sduniontribune.com.

 

2. WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE.

 

If you prefer, you can write a Letter to the Editor.  The word count is just 150 maximum.  Include the same points spelled out above, more briefly.  Email directly to Andrew Kleske at andrew.kleske@sduniontribune.com.

 

3. WRITE A COMMENTARY FOR SUBMITTAL TO TIMES OF SAN DIEGO. 

 

The word count must be 500-750 words.  As above, briefly explain what the City has proposed, and what most concerns you.  State why the proposal is unreasonable and irresponsible.  At the bottom, give you name, profession (if applicable,) number of years you’ve lived in the community, and anything else you’d like to state about yourself.

Please keep in mind that the reading audience of Times of San Diego is younger than that of The San Diego Union-Tribune and, with the majority of the audience between 18-35.

​
