NO REZONING OF SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES, AND A REQUEST FOR IN-PERSON PUBLIC HEARINGS
This Petition urges Mayor Todd Gloria and the City of San Diego Planning Department to withdraw the proposal to rezone a large number of streets in University City from single-family housing to Medium Density Townhome use. This Petition also calls on the City Planning Department to hold multiple in-person public meetings to discuss and receive feedback on the proposed changes to the University City Community Plan Update.
After many years of work and a community survey (that was limited in both its options and its outreach), the City of San Diego Planning Department abruptly added a proposal to rezone a large number of streets in University City from single-family housing to Medium Density Townhome use. This Petition calls on Mayor Todd Gloria and the City of San Diego Planning Department to withdraw that proposal.

This Petition also calls on the City Planning Department to hold multiple in-person public meetings to discuss all of the significant proposed changes to the University City Community Plan Update in areas both north and south of Rose Canyon. In-person public meetings are essential for the community to fully understand the proposals, ask questions, and provide meaningful feedback to City staff.
